What types of workshops work well at Match Studios?
+
Match Studios works well for photography workshops, lighting classes, portfolio reviews, creative classes, small team sessions, production meetings, presentations, training sessions, and hands-on group sessions in a studio environment.
Is this a workshop space or a classroom rental in NYC?
+
Match Studios is a creative workshop space in NYC that can also work as a classroom rental for the right session. It is best for practical creative classes, studio-based education, demonstrations, portfolio reviews, and small group instruction rather than a traditional school classroom setup.
Can I use the studio as a meeting space rental in NYC?
+
Yes. The studio can work as a meeting space rental in NYC for creative teams, brands, agencies, founders, and small groups that want a flexible Midtown setting. It is a good fit for planning sessions, offsites, presentations, reviews, and private meeting formats that benefit from a studio environment.
Which studio should I choose for a workshop or meeting?
+
Studio 2110 works well for smaller classes, compact demonstrations, portfolio reviews, private meeting space, and intimate group sessions. Studio 1720 is better for larger workshops, training room rental layouts, multi-set demos, more attendees, furniture layouts, and sessions that need more room for movement or equipment.
Can I book it as a corporate meeting space or offsite meeting space in NYC?
+
Yes. Match Studios can support corporate meeting space, offsite meeting space, and creative meeting space use when the format fits the studio. Share the agenda, group size, seating needs, presentation requirements, and timing before booking so the team can confirm the right studio and layout.
What can I add to a workshop booking?
+
Workshop bookings may include optional tables, chairs, TV, projector, speaker, microphones, A/V items, lighting support, layout support, or cleaning service depending on the selected studio, booking type, and availability.
Does workshop time include setup and cleanup?
+
Yes. Your booked time includes load-in, setup, attendee arrival, the workshop or meeting itself, resets, cleanup, breakdown, and load-out. Please book enough time for room setup, teaching materials, student arrival, post-session reset, and trash removal.
Can we bring food, drinks, props, teaching materials, or outside equipment?
+
Light food and non-messy drinks are usually allowed. Props, outside equipment, teaching materials, backdrops, carts, and larger setups should be discussed in advance. Anything that may mark floors or walls, require installation, create smoke or haze, use flame, shed glitter or confetti, involve liquids, or require significant cleanup must be approved first.
Is there elevator access and how does load-in work?
+
Yes, the building has elevator access. Load-in details depend on the selected studio, group size, amount of equipment, furniture, teaching materials, and time of day. Tell us in advance if you are bringing carts, cases, rentals, props, backdrops, tables, or large items so arrival and elevator use can be coordinated.
Do workshops, trainings, or meetings need insurance?
+
Small standard workshops and meetings may not require a Certificate of Insurance. Larger groups, outside vendors, equipment-heavy setups, special installations, alcohol service, catering, or higher-risk uses may require proof of insurance naming the appropriate parties as additional insured. If a COI is needed, Match Studios will confirm the requirement before the booking.
Can the studio work as a small event space rental in NYC?
+
Yes, for the right format. This page focuses on workshops, meetings, classes, and trainings, but Match Studios can also support small event space rental in NYC for approved creative gatherings. For private events, brand previews, launch moments, or networking sessions, see the event space Midtown Manhattan page.
What is the cancellation, rescheduling, and overtime policy for workshops?
+
Meeting and workshop bookings may be cancelled for a full refund within 24 hours after booking confirmation if the start time is more than 48 hours away. After that, bookings cancelled 7 or more days before the start time are eligible for a full refund minus non-refundable processing fees and committed custom or vendor costs. Cancellations made between 72 hours and 7 days before the start time are eligible for a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than 72 hours before the start time are non-refundable. Rescheduling and overtime are subject to availability and written approval.
How much does workshop space cost in NYC?
+
Dedicated classroom and training rooms in Manhattan commonly run $75–200 per hour, with hotel meeting rooms above that before catering minimums. Match Studios meeting/workshop blocks start at $295 for 3 hours in Studio 2110 — $99/hr — and from $410 for 3 hours in the larger Studio 1720, with tiers up to 60 attendees.
How far in advance should I book a workshop or class?
+
Instructors running public workshops usually book two to four weeks ahead so ticketing and promotion have a confirmed venue. Internal team sessions can often land same-week on the real-time calendar. If your session needs specific furniture layouts, A/V, or larger group tiers in Studio 1720, add a few days of lead time for coordination.
