Who runs the space
Built and run by a working production team.
Match Studios is built and operated by Match Production , a New York production company that shoots corporate headshots, team photo days, and branded content. We opened the studio because we needed a reliable Midtown base for our own shoots — and once it was built, it made sense to open it to other creatives and companies who need the same thing.
So this is not a rental desk that happens to own a room. It is a working studio, run by the people who shoot in it. When we set the lighting stock, the backdrop system, the scheduling buffers, and the house rules, we set them the way a production team actually needs them — because we are that team.
Production credibility
What we do on a normal week.
On a normal week, Match Production is running team headshot days for companies, executive portrait sessions, and branded content productions across New York. That work is the reason the studio is equipped the way it is. We know what a 40-person headshot day needs to move on schedule, what a lookbook shoot needs to stay lit consistently, and where a production day loses time if the room fights you.
That experience shows up in practical ways: a lighting stock chosen for portraits and content rather than a token kit, a backdrop system that changes fast between looks, a DIT and digikit workflow for tethered capture and client review, and scheduling buffers that assume real load-in, setup, and breakdown rather than pretending a booking is only the time in front of camera. We built the studio to remove the friction we hit on our own shoots.
The space
Two studios on the 21st floor.
The studio sits on the 21st floor at 545 8th Ave in Midtown Manhattan, in the Garment District, two blocks from Penn Station. There are two rooms. Studio 2110 is a 750 sq ft boutique studio with south-facing natural light, 12 ft ceilings, and one clean production set — built for portraits, headshots, podcasts, content, and smaller bookings. Studio 1720 is an 1,850 sq ft production loft with two distinct sets, full blackout capability, and freight load-in for bigger crews, multi-look shoots, workshops, and events up to 60 guests.
We renovated and equipped both rooms around how production days actually run — natural light where it helps, blackout where control matters, a hair and makeup station, Wi-Fi that holds up for tethered work and video calls, and elevator load-in coordination for racks, cases, and gear. Nothing in the build is decorative for its own sake.

We publish our hourly rates and every add-on price rather than quoting by request, so you can budget a shoot or an event without a back-and-forth. And when a booking needs more than the room, the support is real, not outsourced guesswork: the makeup, hair, wardrobe, lighting, DIT, and digikit add-ons come from the same production side that runs our own shoots. You are booking a studio run by a crew that knows what a production day needs — because we are on set most weeks ourselves.
