Can I rent only the studio space?

How do I choose between Studio 2110 and Studio 1720?
Choose Studio 2110 for smaller productions, portraits, headshots, podcasts, compact content shoots, meetings, and intimate events. Choose Studio 1720 when you need more space, two production sets, larger crews, guest tiers, workshops, commercial video, multi-look shoots, or larger creative gatherings.
Is there a minimum booking time?
Minimum booking time depends on the selected studio and booking type. Studio 2110 supports shorter production blocks, while Studio 1720 uses larger blocks and guest-tier pricing. The booking flow shows the available duration options for each studio before you send your booking request.
Can I book the studio for a workshop?
Yes. Match Studios can be used for photography workshops, lighting classes, creative production sessions, portfolio reviews, small meetings, and hands-on group work. Meeting/workshop pricing is based on the selected studio, duration, and guest tier.
Can I use the studio as an event space?
Yes. Match Studios can support private social events, brand previews, launch moments, networking events, showcases, and intimate production-friendly gatherings. Social event pricing is based on the selected studio, duration, guest tier, and optional event add-ons.
Can I add makeup, hair, or wardrobe support?
Yes. Makeup, hair, and wardrobe support can be added to relevant headshot, portrait, fashion, beauty, editorial, commercial, and brand content sessions when availability allows. Request these add-ons during booking so timing and crew availability can be confirmed.
Can I add lighting support or a gaffer?
Yes. Lighting support can be added to photo, video, podcast, workshop, commercial, and event bookings that need a more controlled setup. The booking flow shows the available lighting support options and pricing.
What is DIT service?
DIT service supports the digital workflow during a shoot, including tethered capture, file organization, image review, backup, and handoff. It is useful for commercial, fashion, beauty, product, campaign, and client-reviewed productions.
What is digikit rental?
Digikit rental provides a tethered capture and client review station for commercial, fashion, beauty, product, editorial, and brand content shoots. It helps the team review images on set and keep the shoot organized.
Can I bring my own photographer or crew?
Yes. Match Studios can be rented by independent photographers, producers, content teams, agencies, brands, and client teams that already have their own crew.
Can Match Studios provide a turnkey headshot setup?
Yes. The studio can support individual headshots, team headshot days, founder portraits, executive portraits, actor headshots, and professional LinkedIn sessions with optional photographer, makeup, hair, wardrobe guidance, and retouching workflow.
Is the studio good for podcast recording or corporate video?
The studios can support many podcast, interview, founder-content, corporate-video, and branded-media setups. They are not marketed as fully soundproof soundstages, so tell us before booking if clean production audio is critical.
Do I need to request add-ons in advance?
Yes. Request add-ons during booking so availability, setup time, staffing, equipment, and timing can be confirmed before the session.
Can I request a custom production quote?
Yes. For larger productions, special load-in, outside vendors, complex event setups, crew-heavy sessions, or custom support, contact Match Studios with the project details before booking.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
Bookings may be cancelled for a full refund within 24 hours after booking confirmation, provided the booking start time is more than 48 hours away. After that grace period, bookings cancelled 7 or more days before the start time are eligible for a full refund minus non-refundable payment processing fees and any committed custom or vendor costs. Cancellations made between 72 hours and 7 days before the booking start time are eligible for a 50% refund of the booking price, excluding processing fees and non-refundable custom or vendor costs. Cancellations made less than 72 hours before the booking start time are non-refundable. No-shows are non-refundable.
Can I reschedule my booking?
Rescheduling is subject to studio availability and written approval. One reschedule may be allowed at no additional charge if requested 7 or more days before the booking start time. Rescheduling requests made between 72 hours and 7 days before the booking start time may be approved at Match Studios' discretion and may require a rescheduling fee or credit adjustment equal to 25% of the booking price. Rescheduling requests made less than 72 hours before the booking start time are not guaranteed and may be treated as a late cancellation.
What happens if my shoot or event runs overtime?
Overtime is not guaranteed and depends on studio availability, building access, staff availability, and the schedule after your booking. If you remain in the studio after your confirmed end time, overtime may be charged in 30-minute increments based on the booking category, selected package, studio, and applicable hourly rate. If equipment, furniture, A/V, crew, or production add-ons continue into overtime, additional charges may apply.
Does my rental time include setup and breakdown?
Yes. Your booked time includes all load-in, setup, shooting or event time, resets, cleanup, breakdown, and load-out. You may not enter the studio before the booked start time unless approved in writing, and the studio must be reset and vacated by the booked end time unless overtime has been approved.
Do I need insurance or a Certificate of Insurance?
Small standard bookings may not require a Certificate of Insurance. Larger productions, social events, outside vendors, equipment-heavy setups, alcohol service, special installations, or higher-risk uses may require proof of insurance naming the appropriate parties as additional insured. We will let you know if a COI is required for your booking.
How does load-in work?
Load-in details depend on the studio, booking size, equipment, building access, and time of day. Please tell us in advance if you are bringing carts, cases, props, furniture, outside vendors, catering, or large equipment so we can guide you properly.
Is there elevator access?
Yes, the building has elevator access. Larger load-ins, carts, production cases, furniture, catering, or event deliveries may require additional coordination with the building. Please share your load-in needs before the booking date so we can confirm the smoothest arrival plan.
Is the studio soundproof?
The studios can work well for many interviews, podcasts, and controlled video setups, but they are not marketed as fully soundproof soundstages. Midtown building and street conditions can vary. If clean production audio is critical, let us know before booking so we can discuss timing, setup, and whether the space is the right fit.
Can I bring props, outside equipment, or decorations?
Yes, most props and outside equipment are allowed with advance notice. Anything that may mark floors or walls, require installation, create smoke or haze, use flame, shed glitter or confetti, involve liquids, or require significant cleanup must be approved in advance. Clients are responsible for damage, missing items, extra cleaning, and restoration costs.
Can we bring food and drinks?
Light food and non-messy drinks are usually allowed. Catering, alcohol, large food setups, and event-style service must be discussed before the booking and may require additional rules, cleaning, insurance, licensed vendors, or building coordination. Clients are responsible for removing all food, drinks, trash, and personal items before leaving.
What are the cleaning rules?
Standard cleaning is included for normal studio use, but clients are responsible for basic cleanup before leaving. All trash, food, decorations, props, rentals, and personal items must be removed by the end of the booking. Excessive cleaning, spills, stains, glitter, confetti, smoke residue, abandoned items, damage, or trash left behind may result in additional cleaning or repair fees.
